The Speed of Trust: From a Technical to a Business Perspective

Secure AI, with AI, against AI

On October 6, Akamai welcomed the cybersecurity community to its offices in Garching/Munich. This edition of the Cybersecurity Meetup Munich, organized in collaboration with the Security Network Munich, focused entirely on Artificial Intelligence: Secure AI, with AI, against AI.

AI is transforming at unprecedented speed, and attackers are moving just as fast. Bogdan Carstea, Senior Enterprise Security Architect at Akamai, explored AI security across four dimensions. He covered how to protect against AI-driven attacks, how to secure the AI used by your workforce, and how to protect the AI workloads you build. He concluded by looking at how AI can help run security operations at machine speed.

Raimund Wilhelmer, Security CEE CTO at Accenture, continued the discussion from a business and governance perspective. His talk focused on the decisions that can turn security from a “Department of No” into a “Department of Go.”

Together, the two talks addressed AI security from both sides. Akamai explored the architecture needed to protect the business against AI-driven threats while keeping AI workloads and AI usage secure and under control. Accenture focused on the business decisions and governance principles needed to make this architecture work in practice.

Both presentations were followed by lively discussions, and the evening concluded with networking over snacks and drinks.

The key takeaway was clear: there are far more opportunities with AI than without it. What matters is how AI is used and, above all, that the right security measures are considered and implemented from the very beginning.

Many thanks to Akamai for hosting, to our speakers for sharing their expertise, and to everyone who joined the conversation!
