Our June Cybersecurity Meetup brought the community together for another evening of insightful talks, lively discussions, and valuable networking. Despite the summer heat and the concurrent World Cup match, more than 60 cybersecurity professionals joined us at the impressive Design Offices Atlas, enjoying spectacular views across Munich while connecting with peers from across the industry.

A big thank you to Cloudflare for supporting this edition of the Cybersecurity Meetup Munich and providing such an outstanding venue.

Enabling the Resilient, Agentic AI Internet Era – Building the network, security, and platform the autonomous web depends on

Max Imbiel, Field CISO at Cloudflare, opened the evening with a look at how autonomous AI agents are transforming the Internet and the security challenges that come with them.

He explained why resilient infrastructure, strong identity management, and governance become increasingly important as AI agents interact with multiple systems and execute complex workflows independently. The session also highlighted emerging risks such as prompt injection, shadow MCP servers, and non-human identities, demonstrating how security controls must evolve alongside the next generation of AI-powered applications.

The Secure Delivery Playbook – Moving AI Workflows from Fancy Back to Fundamentals

Stuart McKay, Lead Engineer at GetYourGuide, followed with a practical perspective on building secure AI workflows by focusing on proven engineering fundamentals. His key message was that secure AI starts with fewer dependencies, fresh and trustworthy data, and local-first architectures wherever possible.

One of the evening’s strongest takeaways was that AI is not always the right answer. Knowing when traditional software is the better solution is just as important as understanding how to use AI securely.

Networking and Community

Following the presentations, attendees continued the discussions over food and drinks while enjoying the stunning rooftop location overlooking Munich. The relaxed atmosphere provided an excellent opportunity to exchange ideas, discuss current cybersecurity challenges, and connect with fellow security professionals from across the region.

A sincere thank you to Cloudflare for hosting this event and to everyone who joined us. We look forward to welcoming the community back after the summer. Before our next Cybersecurity Meetup returns in autumn, we hope to see many of you at TechDays Munich in July.
